About us
We’re Ania and Sergio, a Spanish couple living in Geneva, and the people behind aldem.
The name aldem comes from mendialde, the Basque word for mountain range, where Ania is from, but also from the idea of “all them”. Because to us, cycling should feel open to everyone, whether it’s racing, café rides, getting dropped by your friends, or simply riding for the joy of it.
We’ve been cycling for years and two years ago we made our first prototype because we wanted colourful, comfortable kit that felt fun to wear.
We wore it on rides around Geneva tested it a lot and little by little people started asking us about it. We were encouraged to take it further, so we started searching for manufacturers, refining fabrics and fits, and slowly building what would eventually become aldem.
Last September, we organised a small launch with friends and members of our local cycling community in Geneva. That was the moment we realised we had to give it a go and month ago, Ania left her corporate job to fully commit to making aldem happen.
“Play bikes” became our reminder not to take cycling too seriously. Ride hard, race if you want, stop for coffee, sprint for signs, laugh at yourself sometimes. That’s the spirit we wanted this brand to have from the beginning.
We hope you love this first collection as much as we loved creating it.
